 Was reading dimon-san's blog and saw this post on the upcoming Mahou Senki(ry. The protagonist this time is Tohma, a mysterious girl encountered within the depths of ruins...if I'd read the text correctly?

The part about how Hayate doesn't look like a tanuki anymore (literally, "Tanuki doesn't look like Tanuki anymore (because everyone looks so alike)")  made me laugh, then worry for the quality of this sequel OTL 
But hey, human-sized Rein-chan gets a thumbs-up. Since she wasn't 30cm in the group shot for Sound Stage Vocal Best Collection either, maybe Hayate's magic rose to such a high level that she'd be able to maintain that form? *headscratch*

The PV for the Nanoha movie was shown at the Tokyo International Anime Fair, and someone put it up here. 

Looks as though there's a big chance that the novel's plot would be incorporated somehow. Not much news yet aside from a small announcement, but it's something to look forward to I guess. Wrote a little bit on it over here.

Don't really listen to much radio, especially when it's in Japanese, because ikka's ears are fail and wouldn't be able to make it. In fact, the only time I understood one full episode (?) of Smile Gang was when the fifth anniversary was made into a video that was later subbed >_<;;;

Catching this week's Smile Gang was something of a coincidence, and could not have happened without niko-san blogging about it. This post also has a rather informative (...) writeup on the show, so those who have a grasp of some Chinese/Japanese (!) may find it useful - I know I did. Only skimmed through and listened to it in fragments, though...a straight half an hour's worth of audio-only is a tad too long for ikka.

For those who don't, here's a bit on this week's Smile Gang...unfortunately there's not a lot as my ears aren't discerning enough so this will be muchly based on niko-san's report for help+reference and whatever remaining that ikka could get.


OK, so if you passed that up, one more motivation (...?) to listen to this week's show can also be its doubling up as a healing balm for y'all who got mad at SSM 3...or something. For those who'd prefer having Nanoha and FTH giggling away at mundane (?!) things.

I do hope that Misato-san gets better soon, however.

An official site for the C74 Sound Stage has been set up (pardon the term) here. A few things should jump out easily:

1) the lack of big three
2) the exclusion of Nanoha's name from the title. With her kid reaching the legend-creating age of 9, might there be a next season titled Mahou Sankt Kaiser Vivio?
3) the cost...4000 yen...

Some exploration will produce a big WTF moment with the badly-drawn Gin-nee Disc 2 music track, not sung by anyone from the main cast but Kawada Mami. Those who've seen the last bits of Mai HiME may get a mildly disturbing sense of déjà vu seeing a group of Numbers clad in nun getups. The villian looks to be Kawasumi Ayako's character, who is probably the moon priestess mysterious figure in faux-tiger stripes. We get to see someone Subaru should look out for well, maybe - Tiana's aide - as well as her boss from the Coast Disaster Relief, a guy who reminds me of Odin Lowe...

There's also a regular version slated for this autumn, but the features for the limited edition read like those for a DVD...oh, that explains the price, doesn't it.

This was supposed to have been posted many hours ago, but my (afternoon) nap extended until a little after 8, after which the telly, for once, managed to attract/distract ikka for more than 10 minutes. ^_^;;; Then again, I suspect that those who will read this are located in a different timezone, so it probably evens things out somewhat.

Anyway, ikka was off at a flag day event in the morning. Since it wasn't very far away from Orchard Road, I decided to hop over to Kinokuniya, prepared to splurge if Megami #100 could be found there. However, according to the sales counter, the only issue they have currently is #99 - #100 will be arriving on Monday, August 18 (typing this for the benefit of whoever's looking for it too).

ikka really likes that branch, every visit has either entertainment or surprises in store. For instance, while looking for copies of Hayate Cross Blade today, I overheard a guy telling his companion that the Haruhi manga was "about alien[s] and time traveler[s]". Koizumi is so loved, huh. That's not really the point here, though if it wasn't because of that hunt for HCB the highlight of ikka's day would never have occurred...

...the Magical girl lyrical NANOHA COMIC ANTHOLOGY (lol that's what the cover says!), otherwise referred occasionally by me as "the official doujin collection".

It's not as if scans and/or translations of some of the individual shorts inside haven't found their way across the interwebs, as a matter of fact, about 70% of it can be found in various places even if you can't obtain a copy of the actual thing. Still, having it in one's hands is a very enjoyable experience...'cept that the poor old ladies beside me on the bus were probably freaked out when I put on stupid smiles on my face or emitted odd-sounding noises (that were supposed to be laughter).

Here are a few scans, might do a "review" like the one for FAKE JEWEL if there's anyone interested or if I get an overwhelming urge to.


Ending on an unrelated note: the dub of season 1 is weird (RH speaking Mandarin...) but at least the one here is better than MOMO's, them poor Taiwanese. I hear the one airing in Hong Kong isn't all that great either.

...not like it'll ever make its way to local shores, but one can always wish hard for DVDs.

Know how some things seem to just spring up when you least expect them? That was the feeling I was getting when the common tests turned from being an event in the distance to suddenly being just there. Before knowing it, everyone was caught up in a frenzy of hyper-paranoia, mugging, nerves and all that jazz. It was seriously mad. The whole situation was like suddenly waking up and being told that you'd just done something really incredible (take in either positive or negative ways) that you couldn't remember at all...the situation that, in the above short, Fate-chan found herself in. Except for me, it wasn't a setup but rather, more like "WTH HOW DID TIME FLY LIKE THAT. GOT ROCKET BOOSTERS OR SOMETHING?!" lol

The plot isn't entirely ikka's, and neither is the concept for the image (though it was indeed badly drawn by yours truly), plus, as said before, the OOC is strong with this one. Just take it as you will. If it managed to provide some entertainment, that's good. If not, I'm OK with it because finally having that drawn has satisfied ikka quite well, hahah...
